Pre-Service Orientation Week for WISLI Instructors
Monday, June 9-Friday, June 13, 2025
The Summer Intensive Portuguese Institute (SIPI) is a special eight-week program optimized for those who wish to study beginning Brazilian Portuguese. While optimized for learners who have studied a Romance language, all undergraduate students, graduate students, and adult learners are eligible to apply. Students learn speaking, reading, listening, and writing skills though classroom instruction and a full range of co-curricular activities.
SIPI is one of six Wisconsin Intensive Summer Language Institutes (WISLI). It is sponsored by the Language Program Office; the Latin American, Caribbean and Iberian Studies Program (LACIS), a Title VI National Resource Center; Institute for Regional and International Studies National Resource Center (IRIS NRC); and the Department of Spanish & Portuguese at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Applications for SIPI Summer 2025 are closed. Interested applicants should email sipi@lpo.wisc.edu for more information.
